Last Christmas I gave you my heart. The very next day, the harvestmen came for it, with their sharp knives and sharper teeth. I did not mean to sic them on you, but they had been tracking the heart for a long time. They were getting close. the only way to draw them off was to send it your way. And then I heard you had survived their attack. Impossible, I thought. until I realized: you must have unlocked the heart’s fell powers. It’s the only way you could have survived what the harvestmen did to you. And so I write to warn you to break the enchantment while you still can. The heart has preserved you, but for a wretched purpose. It is turning you into one of them. Send the heart away. to me, if you must. I only pray that when it comes, you do not follow, with sharp knives and sharper teeth. Perhaps, next year, to save us all from tears, I will bury it somewhere special. PS: If you like combining horror and the holidays, I just released a Krampus-themed D&D adventure for punishing the party for their misdeeds. You can get the whole adventure for free on my new webshop Nat 21 Workshop!
