The witch announced she had invented a new love potion that could open the doors of any heart. Feed your crush a couple drops, and they’d be yours forever. A few townsfolk sheepishly dropped in to buy one, but in the end, never used them. They resented themselves too much to FORCE someone else to love them. So the witch thought on their troubles and invented a self-love potion. The same townsfolk came back, and after a taste, they appreciated themselves too much to NEED someone else to love them. And so the doors of the heart were thrown wide open. Just not the hearts anyone had expected.
