Above and Below

When our ancestors ran out of land, they built up, hoping the windows would protect them from madness.

When we ran out of atmosphere, we dug down, hoping the walls of digital sky would trick us into staying sane.

When we convinced ourselves that those above were plotting against us and we began our invasion, at least they had windows to jump from.
