A book of the Shortest Story is on Kickstarter

a short story about a book of short stories that can be yours

An old man approaches you with a book in his hand.

Something in his crinkled eyes tells you it is a book he has read many times before, although its spine is crisp and uncracked, as if it has come all this way and waited all this time for you to reach out and open it.

He hands you the book. The tome is soft and strange and beautiful, and every page you turn reveals a different story, a tale so incredible and true that it reminds you of something that never happened to you, but still you cannot forget.

Each page is a postcard you have sent to yourself from another life, from an impossible world, from a place you have never been but always remembered.

And when you reach the end, there is a story in which you meet an old man who gives you a strange and beautiful book. You look up from reading and the old man is gone. There is only you and the book, you and these pages of strange and beautiful lives you never lived.

This is the shortest story, and it is yours to keep.
